Thursday 8th July 2004 turned into
a Charity Night to remember!

At Classic Dressage we hosted a
demonstration together with the Whelpley Hill WI in aid of Riding for the
Disabled. How we managed to pick the worst summer weather in decades was truly amazing
but our audience proved they were not giving up easily and coped with one
heavy downpour - but luckily that was at the end of the demonstration!
The tea and cakes (courtesy of the WI) were extremely welcome afterwards and
their generous gifts to our riders and staff were appreciated. |
|
Rebecca started the evening off with a
look at Ronnie - a promising young 5 year old. She demonstrated the
type of paces she looks for in a youngster and showed the way she works her
young horses in order to build their muscles in the correct way.
Ronnie has a particularly good 'hind-leg'. |

|
Laura then showed off Timmie who works
comfortably at medium level. Rebecca asked Laura to demonstrate some
more complicated movements like shoulder-in and counter-canter. |
 |
 |
|
Jann with her own Sebastian were a firm
favourite with the audience as Rebecca asked her to demonstrate advanced
movements such as 2 and 3 time changes in canter. Jan was able to show
the collection required of an advanced horse. |
|
Rebecca ended up showing Nancy's Prix St
George mare called Classic Nikita. She ran through an Intermediaire I
test which included canter pirouettes and 2 time changes - all in the heavy
downpour! |
